Frog Drum E Low Pygmy

In short: A steel Frog Drum, E Low Pygmy scale, 9 notes: a spellbinding, deep atmosphere, ideal for meditative practices. Bag, microfibre cloth and oil sample included.

Frog Drums: Frog Drums are a more affordable alternative to percussion of this type, with no compromise on quality. Of all percussion instruments and handpans, it is the only one with complete harmonisation on every tongue.

How it is made: The Frog Drum is made from high-quality steel, unpainted, heat-treated to obtain a coating that limits corrosion. Thanks to its rigid internal resonators, it never needs retuning: it is tuned once and for all during manufacture.

Enough to keep your drum for several decades!

The sound: The richness of the timbre evokes the sacred beauty of a cathedral sound: the fundamental in the centre, the fifth and the upper octave on the edges. The Frog Drum plays very well by hand, or with rubber mallets for more intensity. The technique is within everyone's reach, beginner or not!

Far from mass production, Frog Drums are made in a small workshop in Russia: each drum remains unique. Didgeridoo Passion is the official European distributor of Frog Drums.

Care: Like any premium instrument, it needs looking after. I recommend the protective bag, a tripod and the products in the accessories category.

To clean it, use only Phoenix oil, made for treating handpans. Wipe the instrument regularly after playing, with a microfibre cloth kept for this purpose.

Treat it 3 or 4 times a year, more if you often play outdoors. Never put oil inside: there is no need.

The E Low Pygmy scale: Notes: E2, A2, B2, C3, E3, G3, A3, B3, D4. A spellbinding, deep atmosphere. It is the best-selling scale. It can work in E minor, C major, A minor or G major. It is an excellent scale for meditative and spiritual practices, because the sound helps you focus on yourself.

It suits those looking for a very resonant instrument: its very deep bass can almost be felt in the chest as you play. It makes me think of the glow of a distant star, deep and mysterious.
