How to make a new mouthpiece in just a few minutes?

This method is recommended by Didgeridoo passion because it gives optimum adhesion of the wax to the wood. In addition, if your instrument has microcracks this will allow them to be blocked.

  1. Put 3 sheets of wax in a plastic container then place it in a pan in a bain-marie (with water in the pan).
  2. Heat over low heat. The wax melts at 60°C and then becomes liquid. Do not bring it to a boil. (the wax should not be too hot to handle).
  3. Meanwhile clean the wood of your mouthpiece.
  4. Then place the pan on the ground on a newspaper and dip the mouthpiece of your instrument for a few seconds.
  5. After a thin film of wax has deposited there, take out the didgeridoo and turn it to release the wax.
  6. Allow the wax to cool and harden. Meanwhile prepare your wax pudding. To do this, roll a piece of honeycomb plate in your hands while heating the wax with a hair dryer.
  7. Correctly position and shape the wax bead on the top of the mouthpiece. If the wax in your container begins to solidify and turns yellow again, put the bowl back on the heat.
  8. Dip the mouthpiece of your instrument again and take it out immediately. This makes it possible to bind the sausage to the previously deposited wax.
  9. Gradually give the mouthpiece the shape you want when the wax is still hot enough to be modeled.
  10. Let everything harden for 1 hour.
  11. As soon as your mouthpiece is dirty or damaged, start the operation again!
