Triton Squad Atlante Do 19
Didgeridoo Triton Squad Atlante range: Whether you are a beginner or simply a player on a limited budget, this instrument will suit you perfectly. Its open column will allow you to progress easily and quickly. Here is the new reference for the learning Didgeridoo !
My Comments: It is with pleasure that Didgeridoo Passion partners with: Triton Squad aka Mitch . I am happy with this collaboration, especially since I have been looking for this type of didgeridoo with a so-called "open" column for a long time but without having a huge sale price. Mitch has developed this new "Atlante" range in addition to the other ranges of instruments he manufactures. I am really surprised by the playability and ease of play. In fact, Mitch has retained a certain thickness of walls without having a heavy instrument. The finish at this price level is just excellent! Mitch uses hard oil, this allows customization of the didgeridoo, in fact if you want to paint your instrument to your taste it is possible!
How Triton Squad didgeridoos are made: The interior work of the columns is obtained using a CNC milling machine. Milling is a machining process by removing material in the form of chips. It is the combination of two movements: rotation of the cutting tool on the one hand, and advance of the workpiece or tool on the other hand. This type of manufacturing process makes it possible to control the design and therefore the type of column and thus be able to define a precise note and playability. Even if the manufacturing process allows for identical machining, each didgeridoo nevertheless remains unique due to the grain and color of the wood!
Comments from Mitch: Here is the Didgeridoo Atlante range which is the result of several years of work and experience of the instrument serving beginner players and players who want to improve with a simple and pleasant playing experience with a rendering round, precise and pleasant sound. The air column is machined using a modern technique which allows for flawless dimensional accuracy. Designed to make the Didgeridoo versatile, easy to access, precise and responsive. Which will allow you to release wooble, beatbox, overvibration, vocalizations very easily.
These instruments were designed to be the reference for French learning Didgeridoo. The air column is said to be open, 45mm at the mouthpiece outlet, which gives (among other factors) the instrument detailed harmonics and powerful bass while having very simple playability. Concerning the choice of wood species (for this range it is spruce), I think, as a Didgeridoo factor, that resinous species have a bad press due to poor information. For information, the Stradivarius are made of spruce... It is true that the density of the wood is less and to compensate for this "lack" which is not really a lack, I leave more thickness.
Body: Spruce / Mouthpiece: Oak

Classification
This scale is the result of an air column/bell start ratio If we divide the diameter of the bell with that of the beginning of the air column we get a number between 1.5 and 3.5. We can classify all the didgeridoos in 4 large families. Each family groups the instruments with a similar character, simply based on the overall shape of the air column (conical/cylindrical) and on the diameter of the column (wide/narrow). The result is a simple and very reliable reading grid, making it easier to search and purchase on line.
The diameters are measured with a caliper, start of the air column after the mouthpîece. This ratio is very reliable for a didg having a air column with a 'smooth' internal work, in the case of a hollowed eucalyptus instrument it give an approach of the instrumental character.

Triton Squad
French manufacturer of “Triton Squad” didgeridoos
Mitch, who is he?
Alias Mich or Mitch, he started music at the age of 10 by learning the trumpet in his village's music school. A jack of all trades, he also indulges in the joys of the clarinet and the synthesizer. In 1999, when he was 18 years old, he made his first trip to Australia, to visit his godfather and godmother. The latter offered him an instrument then little known in France: the didgeridoo. He immediately fell under the spell and returned a few weeks later with his first didgeridoo under his arm. Entirely self-taught, he perseveres and overcomes one by one the challenges posed by this ancestral and sacred instrument. Passionate and constantly in search of new sounds, he accumulates a veritable forest of didgeridoos, often leaving those around him perplexed when it comes to the high number of his instruments. He is regularly asked if Triton Squad is not an association of didgeridoo players... To this he replies that no, he is alone and happy. His dream is to reach 100 didgs at the end of his life. On several occasions he made his own instruments, which delighted him to the highest degree.
What is Triton Squad?
In 2013, the level he reached allowed him to create his company “Triton Squad” so that he could share his passion and make the didgeridoo known to as many people as possible. His business is divided into 5 types of services: concerts, educational interventions, vibraphonic treatments, private lessons and the manufacture/sale of didgeridoos. Mitch wants to work with children and adolescents to share with them the pacifist values linked to the practice of his instrument. To enable him to practice in the school environment, he received approval as an external speaker in musical education for the departments of Haut Rhin and Bas Rhin.
In May 2017, he “confronted” himself with the greatest European players during Didg à didg n°4. He then finished in the round of 16.
In 2019, during didg to didg n°5 which became international with the arrival of 2 Mexicans, a Peruvian and an Iranian, Mitch finished the pacifist competition in the semi-final, i.e. in the top 4 of the best registered players to this competition.
