Laurent's comments:
Here is a didgeridoo which is based on my personal model. A fairly narrow column ending with a very directive pavilion. the walls are thin, which makes it an extremely simple instrument, and very comfortable to play. What I like about this configuration and its responsiveness, which I need on stage in my various projects, where harmonics are in the spotlight.

Classification
This scale is the result of an air column/bell start ratio If we divide the diameter of the bell with that of the beginning of the air column we get a number between 1.5 and 3.5. We can classify all the didgeridoos in 4 large families. Each family groups the instruments with a similar character, simply based on the overall shape of the air column (conical/cylindrical) and on the diameter of the column (wide/narrow). The result is a simple and very reliable reading grid, making it easier to search and purchase on line.
The diameters are measured with a caliper, start of the air column after the mouthpîece. This ratio is very reliable for a didg having a air column with a 'smooth' internal work, in the case of a hollowed eucalyptus instrument it give an approach of the instrumental character.

Laurent Fradet, Who is he?
"A musician for many years, I stopped, in 2000, on this formidable piece of wood that is the didgeridoo. After several years of practice, I began to make my own instruments. After making my first pieces, I looked more seriously at the design of the instrument, in particular the air column. Curious by nature, I started working on different essences in order to form my own opinion of the usefulness of each of them. as the main element of a future didgeridoo I try as much as possible to satisfy my curiosity by inevitably making the same pieces twice, both in terms of musicality and aesthetics, therefore forcing me to look for new ones. . solutions.
Comment Does Laurent do his didgs?
I make them from different species of branches or trunks that I find mainly around my home (Parthenay (79), favoring hardwoods. The constraint of natural pieces sometimes forces me to make choices in the manufacturing which gives rise to pieces I occasionally use exotic woods for my mouthpieces, my bells or as edging. All my instruments are cut in half lengthwise allowing me to remove the material I want, using gouges. , in order to create instruments with beautiful musical characteristics I also work on wooden beams, they allow me to work in a completely different way, leaving more room for my imagination and my creativity, entirely by hand. , revealing the gouge cuts inside We therefore find ourselves on didgeridoos closer to a traditional instrument.
All my didgeridoos are tuned to satisfy all musicians playing in formation with other harmonic instruments. They are all varnished inside and out, making them stable against humidity released during play. The varnishes used comply with the EN 71.3 toy standard.
I guarantee my didgeridoo pendants for 2 years. If, despite the care taken in manufacturing, defects appear during the warranty period (cracks or air leaks), I undertake to do what is necessary so that you can enjoy your instrument as soon as possible.
