In short: The ideal pack for getting started: a Travel Didgeridoo, its bag and Gauthier Aubé's learning method, at a reduced price.

The Travel Didgeridoo: The Travel Didgeridoo follows you wherever you go. It suits beginners as well as experienced players looking for a travel didgeridoo. Fully assembled, it measures 1.65 m; taken apart, only 45 cm. Its 11 cm bell gives an excellent sound, for a weight of only 880 g.

It is painted entirely by hand, in the spirit of dot painting.

The notes: It is made up of 3 screw-together sections of 45 cm and one of 35 cm, which divides in two. The screw threads and rubber seals keep the joints airtight. Depending on the combination you choose, it tunes to 5 notes: D, D#, E, F and G.

It comes with its storage bag, so you can take it everywhere.

My advice:

  1. Your Travel Didgeridoo is new: the first assembly can be a little stiff, because the threads sometimes keep small burrs from manufacturing. Press a little as you turn, keeping it straight. After the first time, everything becomes easier.
  2. For the different notes, section A can be used both ways round, by removing the mouthpiece.
  3. The bottom sections, D and E, have no seal: the pressure there is too low for one to be needed. Screw them on without forcing.
  4. The instrument is new and delivered in a blister pack: it may keep a slight smell of plastic, which fades with time. A few drops of lavender essential oil in the mouthpiece and the job is done!

The method: More than just a method, this book is the guide to finding your way in the world of the didgeridoo! It is organised in eleven separate, progressive lessons: you can discover or strengthen the basics of the drone in the first one, or go straight to the next, depending on your level.

Gauthier explains in simple terms how to play the didgeridoo. His aim: that the complete beginner and the intermediate player alike find what they need across its 128 pages.

What you receive: You receive the paper version of the book at home with your Travel Didgeridoo, then an email with a download link for the audio tracks.
