Jesse has perfected his making techniques and is now recognized as one of Australia's most talented didgeridoo makers.
Jesse Lethbridge, Who is he?
"My name is Jesse Lethbridge, I am a musician and didgeridoo maker. I started playing the didgeridoo in 1998. In 2000, I traveled throughout my native Australia to deepen my connection with the didgeridoo. In 2004, I decided to live and spend my days making these incredible instruments.”
How does Jesse do his didgs?
He cuts his trunks in the North-East of Arnhem Land from traditional communities and notably the famous Djalu Gurruwiwi, then returns to manufacture in your workshop in New South Wales. Its instruments are recognizable by their unique painting. Jesse obtained permission to paint from an Aboriginal Elder from South Australia who introduced him to the Dotpoint technique.
His workshop is in the county of Bellingen, New South Wales, where the weather is mild enough to work outside. He lives and works at his workplace with his partner and two children.
"My happiness: playing music, making instruments, singing, exploring the world, lounging in nature and family life. Alongside my love for the didgeridoo, I play 6 and 12 string guitar, the mandolin, percussion, Native American flute and Handpan!
