didgeridoo learning method
Didgeridoo learning method: "The art of the didgeridoo"
Or how to play your first rhythms on the didgeridoo (even if you're not a musician)
Here is the new version of the didgerioo method by Gauthier Aubé!
More than a simple method, this book is the guide to help you find your way in the world of the didgeridoo! Organized into eleven distinct and progressive lessons. For example, you can discover or consolidate the basics of the drone in the first lesson or go directly to the next lesson depending on your level. Gauthier explains in simple and understandable terms how to play the didgeridoo. Its goal is that the complete neophyte, as well as the intermediate player, can find their way within the 128 pages that compose it.
After your order, you will receive the paper version of the booklet at your home. Then an email will be sent to you with a download link to obtain the audio tracks.

3 Chapters | 11 Lessons | 95 audio tracks | 60 rhythms | 50 exercises |
to introduce you to the world of the didgeridoo | organized in private lessons | illustrating rhythms and exercises | to play, listen and read | progressive and didactic |
Over the course of eleven lessons, you will be able to master all the basics of the didgeridoo, such as:
- Stabilize or refine your drone
- Place your lips precisely to master the harmonics
- Consolidate your rhythms with “tongue attacks”
- Acquire continuous breathing step by step so you no longer stop
- Use your voice to adorn your rhythms
- Develop your abdominal breathing to find bodily relaxation.
- Learn and discover dozens of new rhythms
- Noticing that rhythms always form around your breathing...
- And I could continue this list!
Having reached the end of this book, you will have covered the essential techniques for playing the didgeridoo. They will allow you to play your own rhythms without any prior musical knowledge!
But that's not all ! |
Diagrams to illustrate A drawing is often more effective than a long speech! You will find in this method more than 60 diagrams and photos. I even added the photos of the MRI I had with my didgeridoo. These will show you the position of the tongue for the main harmonics! This should help you better visualize the hidden world of the didgeridoo! |
With sound, it's still better! Music is, above all, sound! Logically, the method is accompanied by 95 audio tracks. You will therefore be able to listen to the exercises and then reproduce them, but also play the rhythms at the same time as the recording. This should help you anchor the pulse! |
Wakatoo gives you the rhythm! In 2012, I created the Wakatoo card game to help players develop their own didgeridoo rhythms. All the rhythms of the method are written in this language. So, if you are more visual than auditory, Wakatoo will help you better understand the rhythms. And for those who know music theory, you will find at the end of the method, the 60 rhythms written in traditional music theory! |
